D E V O T I O N :.
I call this a "soundtrack to prayer." I've often
dabbled with certain chillout styles but this one's definitely
not within the chillout sound familiar in the tons of compilations
out there. Personally, I don't really want to call this chillout
because of the sound and idea behind creating this particular
album.
I made this album as a fund raiser primarily for my church.
I figured that the best way to give back to God was to create
something from the talents that he gave me and use it to raise
funds to build His house, which in my case, is my home church.
With the help and support of our senior pastor and his family,
Devotion got a green light and this is the product of that gratitude
I have for my saviour.
I wrote these tunes with prayer in mind and how I imagine music
playing in the background. I wanted something that didn't jump
out of the speakers or something that could startle anyone listening
to it. I wanted it to sound more like background music than
something you actually sit down and listen to. The irony of
it though is that it can definitely stand alone as a collection
of music pieces regardless if it was born out of "music
for prayer."
I've received reviews of it being "relaxing" or a
"nice companion to the beach," which is definitely
a plus and I'm just happy that this particular album can be
able to touch lives in whatever way it can.
