I've gone over a couple of decent pieces
and some which I had to sell for various reasons like
gathering dust or I didn't find the need for it anymore.
I've kept a couple and am still contemplating on selling
some but here's a list of those that have come and gone as well as those that are still in the studio.

SYNTHS |
Korg R3 - Got this coz I just had to have
one. I needed a portable vocoder and this fit the bill
nicely so I ordered one. Haven't really explored it
much but it sounds nice! |
|
Roland JP8000 - Got it for the acclaimed
super saw and because I've always wanted one ever since
I got into music production! Wish I had the 8080 with
the vocoder. Funnily enough, I haven't played with this
since I got it. |
|
Novation X Station - Got it for being
a jack-of-all-trades kinda synth. A controller, hardware
synth, and audio interface with built in effects! What
more could you ask for! It's having problems with my
windows system so it' resting now til I get a Mac. |
|
Roland Juno 60 - I sold my analog synths before and so this one I'm keeping! |
|

|
BOXES |
Korg EMX - Contains the MMT from the acclaimed
R3 and raidas synths so basically, it's another synth
but with the groovebox ethos in mind with sequencing,
etc. You make your own patches here unlike the full
on R3 synth which has some presets of its own. Got this
as a partner to the ESX. |
|
Korg ESX - a very neat sampler. This one
would take anything so I see this as any drum machine
you'd want it to be since you can load off samples from
any drum machine, then tweak and sequence away. |
|
Roland MC307 - The most important piece
of equipment in the sf stable despite its age. This
is the reason silverfilter the live performer was born.
I had great years of experience with this. The buttons
are quite hard to press these days though I know it
just needs a good cleaning inside. (which I can't do) |
|
Roland SP808 - When I started exploring
live sets with audio files, I enjoyed the 808. People
who've followed my gigs back then know that it's gonna
be a fun remix night when I bring this along. It's a
great effects box and with all the other features, it's
really something. |

Pioneer EFX500 - A simple but very useable effects
box. Often underrated as I've seen people sell this
cheap because it felt to them like it was lacking. I
love this box and would never try to play a show without
it. Have created nice breakdowns and endings with this
thing. I love it! |
|
Korg Kaoss Pad 3 - This one's a keeper as well. With
the wealth of FX onboard plus the sampling function
of the KP3, it's hard to beat. (though I never tried
loading the sample slots til now haha). The KP paired
with the EFX is my ultimate weapon of choice. |
|
Kaossilator - A really nice little synth in a box.
Seen as a toy by a lot, this can deliver the goods as
well on the sfx side to the more synth side. Equipped
with sounds derived from the Radias (if I remember correctly),
this little box has some serious grit and bottom end
on the synth patches and serious fun can also be made
here with the looping function. I found myself just
making simple on the spot tunes with this. |
|
CONTROLLERS |
Akai MPK49 - It's a great controller with
nice features but the thing I love about it is the build,
the keys, and the position of the transport controls,
which makes it easier for me to move my hands. |
|
Novation Remote SL25 - This is my live
show controller. I fell inlove with it because of the
wealth of knobs, sliders, and buttons it has. There's
no other controller out there with the amount of control
this one provides. Add Automap and you're set. Though
I'm more used to mapping it manually. |
|
AKAI LPK25 - This is my new favorite controller because of its size. This is what I bring along to work with when I'm asked to work outside of the studio or simply when I feel like making music outside. Great build quality and feel! I'm actually planning to upgrade to the MPK mini later on just to get knobs. |
|
AKAI APC40 - This is one of my main live set controllers. I got this actually to replace the SL25 and as much as this controller rocks, there are still features on the SL25 that I sorely miss. I'm trying to make do with the limitations of this controller but it could be better. With that said, I still love this. Great set of features and build quality. |
|
Native Instruments' MASCHINE - This is my latest favorite. It's a controller but it comes with a great piece of software as well as a collection of top quality sounds. I have played shows with this already and it rocks. There's more to learn about this unit as it is consistently being updated by NI so it's a great buy! I love this box. |

Propellerhead Reason - I love this piece
of software. I create all my tunes on this and it's
been a real workhorse of a software. |
|
Propellerhead Record - The best update to Reason yet as this one adds Audio! It's not really a Reason update but it works with Reason. In fact, Reason runs inside it seamlessly so it's brought Reason to a higher level! On its own, it's a great songwriter tool as well. |
|
Ableton Live - I use this for live and
DJ sets. I still need tons of time to devote learning
this thing inside and out. Time will come. |
